Summers in California come with abundance. Plum trees offer their gifts, renegade grapes beckon from their arbors. Traveling through this land, we were gifted with so many things: fruit from trees, and kindness from the strangers who welcomed us for a night into their homes. Receiving these offerings, we held gratitude. Nothing was taken for granted, and each gift, the smallest bite and the warmest welcome, was something that we honored.
